The short version. Analgesia.net has no login, no accounts, and no registration. It does not sell data or run advertising. It does not knowingly collect information that identifies you personally. Any analytics used are limited to understanding aggregate site usage.
01 Who We Are
Analgesia.net is an independent, non-commercial educational website providing perioperative pain management reference content for healthcare professionals. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the Site owner is the data controller. Contact details are available on the About page.
02 What Data We Collect
Because the Site has no accounts or forms that request personal information, it does not collect names, email addresses, or clinical data from visitors during normal use. The only data processed is:

Server logs are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure and are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes. IP addresses in analytics are anonymised or truncated where the analytics provider supports it.
03 Cookies
The Site aims to use as few cookies as possible. Any cookies fall into these categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function and served without consent (e.g. security or load-balancing cookies set by the host).
- Analytics — if used, these help measure aggregate usage. They are only set where permitted, and you can decline them without losing access to any content.

04 Third-Party Content
Some pages embed content from third-party services — for example, educational videos from YouTube and web fonts from Google Fonts. When such content loads, the third-party provider may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Embedded videos use privacy-enhanced parameters where available. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these providers if this is a concern. External links to sites such as ESRA, ASRA, NYSORA, and PubMed are governed by those sites' own policies.
05 Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights over any personal data a controller holds about you, including the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing, and to object to processing. Because the Site does not hold identifiable personal data about visitors beyond transient technical logs, in most cases there is no personal record to act on. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
06 Data Security
The Site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Reasonable technical measures are in place to protect the infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
07 Children
The Site is intended for healthcare professionals and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
