Analgesia.net (“the Site”) is an independent educational resource intended exclusively for qualified healthcare professionals — including anaesthetists, surgeons, physicians, trainees, and allied clinical staff involved in perioperative care. The content assumes prior clinical training and knowledge of anaesthesia and regional techniques.

It is not intended for members of the general public, patients, or carers for the purposes of self-diagnosis, self-treatment, or making decisions about their own care. By continuing to access the Site you confirm that you are a qualified healthcare professional acting in a professional capacity.

All content on the Site is provided for educational and informational purposes only. 03 Clinical Responsibility

All clinical decisions remain the sole responsibility of the treating practitioner. Every decision must be individually assessed by a competent clinician taking into account, among other factors:

• The individual patient's history, comorbidities, and allergies;
• Renal, hepatic, and cardiorespiratory function;
• Concurrent medication and anticoagulation status;
• Local protocols, institutional policy, and current drug formulary;
• The clinician's own competence and scope of practice for a given technique.

Regional anaesthetic techniques described on the Site should only be performed by practitioners trained and credentialled in their use, with appropriate monitoring, resuscitation facilities, and lipid emulsion immediately available.

04 Drug Doses & Protocols

Drug doses, concentrations, volumes, and protocols are provided as general reference values based on published guidelines and are not prescriptions. Maximum dose limits, particularly for local anaesthetics, must always be calculated on a mg/kg basis for the individual patient and adjusted for age, weight, frailty, and organ dysfunction.

Before any clinical use, all doses must be independently verified against the current British National Formulary (BNF), the relevant Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC), and local formulary. Where guidance conflicts, the current SmPC and local policy take precedence. The Site owner accepts no liability for any clinical outcome arising from the application of any dose or protocol described.

05 Accuracy & Currency

The Site owner makes reasonable efforts to ensure that content is accurate and reflects current evidence at the time of writing. However, medical knowledge evolves continuously. Guidelines are updated, and recommendations may change. No warranty is given that any content is complete, current, or free from error. Content should always be cross-checked against the primary source and the most recent guidance before clinical application.
